Motor controllers are devices which regulate the operation of an electric motor. In artificial lift applications, motor controllers generally refer to those devices used in conjunction with switchboards or VFDs to control the operation of the prime mover. An electric vehicle motor controller combines power electronics and embedded microcomputers that effectively convert the energy stored in the batteries into motion.

The DC motor/controller system is still used today on some electric vehicles to keep the cost down. However, with the advent of better and less expensive electronics, a large number of today’s electric vehicles are using AC motor/controller systems because of their improved motor efficiency and lighter weight.

There are mainly two types of AC connectors 1. IEC 60309 2. Type 2 AC connector.

There are mainly four types of DC connectors 1. GB/T 2. Chademo 3. CCS1 4. CCS2.

Verycon is an Intelligent Charge controller to build any type of AC Charging stations ranging from 3.3KW to 22KW and higher for Household application to commercial installation. It can support energy management, Remote access, and OCPP connectivity.

Perhaps the most common industrial use for contactors is the control of electric motors. The top three contacts switch the respective phases of the incoming 3-phase AC power, typically at least 480 Volts for motors 1 horsepower or greater.

The motor controller receives commands from interfaces such as the throttle, brake, and forward/reverse control switches. The motor controller processes these commands and very precisely controls the speed, torque, direction, and consequent horsepower of a motor in the vehicle.
